All About Me
From a small town in Wiltshire, I live with my wife Karina, who plenty will say is my better half. Sugar-Artistry would not be possible without her continued support throughout the years and helping the business run smoothly. I also have two wonderful children and a growing family which now includes two grandsons who I adore.
I first became interested in cake decoration at the tender age of 14, when I created my first ever Christmas cake decorated in royal icing!
I attended college in 1975 (yes that's a few years ago I know) and entered my first competition, in which I received 'first place'. It was from here I was hooked with the creativity of sugar mediums and what could be made with it.
Skip a few years and now with 35 years' experience; I've become a fully trained chef, specialist pastry chef and qualified teacher with an array of medals from National and International Competitions all of which I am very proud of.
Stephen Benison Sugar-Artistry was created over 18 years ago when I designed my first collection. Since then fashion and trends change and my products have evolved with my own style and innovative designs still at the forefront of what I do.
I love that my role has allowed me to teach overseas and I am recognised Designer. worldwide. My aim is to inspire others and continue to develop and create new products for all cake enthusiasts out there.
